Circluar Making Principals

Artisan made goods

The Hunter Made ethos includes circular design principles that prioritize sustainability and accountability throughout the entire production process. From sourcing materials locally whenever possible to utilising practices that minimise transportation and reduce energy consumption, every decision is made with the environment in mind. Our commitment to zero waste is evident in our process and packaging, and we carefully select suppliers who share our vision of minimal environmental impact. As a independent artisan run business, we recognise the importance of staying attuned to the ever-changing world and are continually evolving to meet new challenges and opportunities. When it comes to our products, you won't find any synthetic fabrics here as we know that the natural dye process thrives best on natural materials.

Collective responsibility

Sustainable Development Goals are at the core of HunterMade's mission and we are committed to tackling three specific goals. As a small independent business, we firmly believe that even the smallest actions can make a significant impact on the planet's ecosystems. One of the major issues we address is the devastating effect of synthetic colorants on global water systems and the health of those working in related industries. To minimize our overall ecological footprint, we actively utilize waste materials from the florist industry, repurposing floral arrangements that would otherwise go to waste. This commitment to "making use of what already exists" is exemplified in our creation of beautiful wedding scarves crafted from wedding blooms.
In our efforts to fulfill our missions, we prioritize Goal 13: Taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. We understand the crucial need to protect our planet and are dedicated to promoting sustainable practices. Additionally, we focus on Goal 15: Protecting, restoring, and promoting the suitable use of terrestrial ecosystems. Through sustainable forest management, combating desertification, and reversing land degradation, we work to preserve Earth's biodiversity.
Although we are proud of our achievements, we acknowledge that there is always room for improvement. Consequently, we have set our sights on Goal 12: Ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. This means continuously striving to make our processes more sustainable and creating products that align with these values.
Stay tuned for more updates on our journey towards becoming B Corp certified by 2024. We are excited to share the steps we are taking to enhance our sustainability practices and contribute to a better future for all.

Our economic system and our planetary system are now at war. Or, more accurately, our economy is at war with many forms of life on earth, including human life. What the climate needs to avoid collapse is a contraction in humanity’s use of resources; what our economic model demands to avoid collapse is unfettered expansion. Only one of these sets of rules can be changed, and it’s not the laws of nature
